His father spent 35 years inspiring young minds as a science teacher and coach for football and basketball at Fayette Junior High and Whitewater Middle School, shaping the futures of countless local students. His mother contributed nearly 40 years to Frank Caywood and Associates, a cherished small business in Peachtree City, supporting the local economy with unwavering dedication. This rich heritage of service and commitment fuels James's passion for Fayette County today.
James's personal story is one of family first. Married to the brilliant Dr. Whitney Clifton, an Emory-educated epidemiologist and pillar in her own right, they raise their two young sons - precocious Julian, who is 7 and already dreaming big, and playful William, 4, whose voice drips with southern charm that lights up any room - in the welcoming Kedron area of Peachtree City. Weekends often find them at Peachtree City First Baptist Church, where faith and fellowship ground their days. James has a quirky side too: in his spare time, he dives into the nostalgic world of restoring old pinball machines, breathing new life into forgotten classics with the same care he applies to everything he touches.
